How did you meet?
Trevor and I knew who each other were through mutual friends. We had never really spoken to each other but I finally had the courage to approach him at a bar the day after my birthday, where I proceeded to ask him why he didn’t come to my birthday party the night before. He responded that he didn’t come because he wasn’t invited, so we then decided that we should become friends so were always invited to each other’s parties.

How did he propose?
After dating for three and a half years, he proposed in our apartment right before we were about to move into our new house. He had set up our dining room table late at night with rose petals and numbered envelops with gift bags so when I opened the bedroom door in the morning I saw everything he had set up. The last gift bag had the ring inside and then he proposed over my favourite breakfast. The ironic thing was that the night before when he was buying all the ingredients for breakfast, he ran into my 2 best friends in the grocery store! He quickly diverted their attention away from the berries, pancake mix, and chocolate sauce in his basket.

The theme
We wanted our wedding to really be about having a great time celebrating with our friends and family, so we made sure to have our wedding on a Saturday night. We hired both a band for the evening and a DJ for late at night so we could spend as much time as possible on the dance floor. We wanted a modern yet romantic feel to our wedding so we focused our décor primarily on using white draping with ivory linen, white flowers, and candle light but also with amber up lighting. It definitely created the romantic feel we were hoping for.
Before our ceremony, we spent a few hours together taking pictures with our amazing photographer Assaf. It was such a memorable and relaxing time, to be together away from the set up of the venue.
